ABOUT US

CRAFTSMANSHIP + EXPERIENCE

Acorn Sign Graphics designs and fabricates custom architectural signage and graphics customers can depend on to be found, be seen, and be remembered. Our philosophy is simple: Put passion into each sign we create as we help our clients be found, be seen, and be remembered. Our passion isn’t just for signs; it’s for the entire process, too.

Whether in a commercial setting or civic space, a health care complex or an academic campus, signs do more than identify and direct. They communicate an image and a brand. Signage at its best conveys a unique sense of place and enhances the ways people connect to the built environment and to one another. Acorn Sign Graphics helps achieve these goals…creatively, sustainably, collaboratively.

OUR PEOPLE

Each Acorn Sign Graphics associate understands that signs do more than simply identify and direct; they communicate an image and a brand. Beginning with exterior signage and continuing through each space within, signs convey a unique sense of place and personality and enhance the ways people connect to the built environment.

Michelle’s favorite aspect of her position is goal setting. She loves to set the bar high in a variety of capacities and works diligently with her team to achieve them! When it comes to goal setting, she especially loves to focus on customer service, technical capabilities and personal and professional growth. When asked about why she loves working for Acorn in particular, she says, “The way our culture here enables me to operate as a leader. Our team operates with a lot of trust. BOB GREENBERGER
EXECUTIVE VP OF SALES | MARKETING
Meet Acorn’s EVP of Sales and Marketing: Bob Greenberger
In April 2019, Acorn Sign Graphics welcomed Robert “Bob” Greenberger to our team as the new Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. We sat down with him to discuss his experiences and vision for Acorn in this new position. He has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a large portion of those in the sign industry. Bob discovered his love of signage in his college days at Penn State University, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing. Before he was specifically working in the sign industry, he worked in advertising, and his passion for advertising led him to the world of sign-making. Bob’s extensive experience in the sign industry lends him to have a keen understanding of sales and marketing in relation to sign-making. His journey in the sign industry began when he became the VP of Sales at Jarob, Inc. When he accepted the position at Jarob, he had a small marketing team comprised of salespeople, estimators and marketing professionals. They focused on mostly interior signage work in the supermarket, healthcare, sports, and convention center industries. Not only did he work to redevelop and expand the marketing and sales teams, his efforts in strategic marketing allowed Jarob to grow from a $8 million company to a $12.5 million company during his time there. After he left Jarob, Inc., he accepted a role as a National Account Executive for North American Signs (NAS). While his former position was mostly focused on interior signage, North American Signs exclusively creates exterior signage, which presents a different understanding and perspective of the industry. In his time at NAS, he learned the intricacies of exterior signage permits, zoning codes, engineering, maintenance, installation, and more. Bob’s most recent position before joining Acorn was as the Director of Sales and Education at Nova Polymers in the Washington D.C. area. His position at Nova Polymers required him to develop and strengthen their sales and support teams. Not only did he focus on redeveloping their sales division, he led a group of educational presenters that taught on the importance of ADA compliance and standards in relation to signage for architects, designers, and the sign community as a whole. In addition, his marketing and sales strategies allowed Nova Polymers to grow from a $4 million company to a $6 million company during his tenure. While working at Nova Polymers, he met the team at Acorn Signs as he was doing some consulting work, and after 6 years of working at Nova, he’s joined Acorn Sign Graphics as our EVP of Sales and Marketing. Bob has diverse experiences and knowledge that he is bringing together to the Acorn team. Bob’s main focus for Acorn is to elevate and develop the sales team, estimators and account managers to allow them to do the best work possible. He believes that when company leaders empower and provide team members with the resources they need to succeed, everything else takes care of itself. He is also working to establish new marketing strategies and programs for Acorn to grow its brand presence. Bob’s dedication to the sign industry stems from his passion for “helping the 7.3 billion people in this world navigate the ‘built environment.’” He believes that innovation and strategic design in signage helps people get to the right place easily. This is what his passion is truly about. Bob strives to make built environments more inclusive and accessible, while also focusing on environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Acorn Sign Graphics is a company that is extremely passionate about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in relation to signage and wayfinding, and Bob’s vision for the sign industry as a whole strategically aligns with our mission. Bob has given hundreds of presentations on ADA compliance, and he is one of few people in the country who is considered an ADA expert in relation to signage. Our passion for accessibility in the sign industry makes Bob a perfect fit for taking Acorn into the future as a company focused on inclusion. When clients work with Acorn Sign Graphics, they experience working with a creative department that can take ideas all the way from conception to completion. Our team develops the initial design for signage (including wayfinding), analyzes the space, and determines the best way for people to navigate the built environment. After these steps, Acorn is able to fabricate and install all the signage needed, all with a focus on ADA compliance and accessibility. Acorn Sign Graphics is unlike other signage companies because we are a certified B Corporation that focuses on sustainability, environmentalism, and inclusion. According to the official definition, “Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.” (Source: https://bcorporation.net/about-b-corps ). Acorn’s designation as a B Corp sets us apart as a company that is focused on people first. Bob has began working on new ideas and strategies to highlight our mission to partner with individuals and companies that strive to improve our society as a whole through accessibility. We focus on our client’s goals and what they are looking to accomplish, and work with them to bring projects to fruition. On a personal level, Bob’s greatest joy is playing with his 3 grandchildren and watching them grow up. He has 3 daughters, and loves being able to spend time with his family. He is also an avid golfer, racket ball, and pickleball player. Acorn Sign Graphics is overjoyed to welcome Bob Greenberger to our team, and we are excited for how our company will move into the future with Bob as our EVP of Sales and Marketing.

KEITH KAPLAN
ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER
Nassau County, New York
14 months
My current position is still so fresh. I love being able to apply what knowledge I do have, but the best part is gaining the knowledge I don’t have. As an installer seeing the final product in all its beauty after that final wipe down. There’s a deep satisfaction when you step back and take that final look at your work. Especially with vinyl. Vinyl is an art. The environment and my coworkers. Acorn is so stress free even on the Most stressful days. And I am so grateful for my team, Installers and Project Delivery alike. When I’m not grinding it out here with you guys, I like to be On the Road. Traveling to new places and following the music. -If you get confused, listen to the music play-
