How Acorn Is Supporting Our Community During COVID-19

As a certified B-Corporation, Acorn is dedicated to our social impact in all of our work, especially during this time of COVID-19 closures and quarantines. We believe that business should be about more than just profits, which is why we care deeply about our employees, clients and socially-conscious business practices.

Our team at Acorn is fully operational, and we continue to work hard to design and fabricate signage for our clients. We continue to conduct business with a focus on providing high levels of service while also giving back to the communities in which we live and work.

We are diligently following the CDC guidelines for social distancing and operating our business as safely as possible. We are allowing remote work for employees in order for them to be able to safely continue working without concerns about their health or their families. For our employees who continue to fabricate signage for our clients, we ensure that they are practicing social distancing and are provided with the necessary protective gear to remain healthy as well.

We also have put together multiple company initiatives this quarter, and 26 members of our team volunteered to provide aid and relief to those in need. Some of these initiatives between our two offices include:

  • Providing 6-feet apart decals to multiple businesses
  • Giving ear guards to hold masks in order to help alleviate pressure on the ears
  • Supplying outdoor signage for hospitals, police departments and fire stations
  • Working with local Food banks and public schools to assist however we can
  • Creating activities for kids at Children’s Hospital
  • Partnering with Meals on Wheels to deliver food to those who cannot leave their home

In order to thank our team for their generous efforts, we provided an extra day off during the Memorial Day weekend as an expression of gratitude for their dedication to the company and community during this coronavirus.
