We believe that education should be interactive, innovative and centered around the needs of the students. We recently finished a project for the new Chester Early Childhood Learning Academy (CECLA), and it was an incredible experience for our team to develop signage and installations through the lens of the kids that will be learning and growing there.
This new learning academy through Chesterfield County Public Schools is a public pre-k that offers the opportunity for kids to learn how to be in a school setting before starting kindergarten! When we started this project, our goal was to inspire kids to learn simply through interacting with their surroundings. The Learning Academy’s mascot is a seahorse, so this project grew from that idea into full underwater images and graphics across life-size murals and signage.
We partnered with the design team at Iconograph Design and collaborated with the client to create the imagery and teaching moments for kids through letters and numbers in the space. By color coding spaces, we were also able to create opportunities for kids to associate their surroundings with their education! Our team also created the exterior monumentation and other signage that helped bring the whole space together.
We absolutely loved working with Iconograph Design, CCPS and the CECLA team to bring this project to life! We can’t wait to see the impact that CECLA will have on kids in the area and are honored to be able to be a part of the project.
