Accessibility for All Individuals
At the center of our work is our dedication to being experts on accessible and inclusive signage. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) establishes regulations that require built environments to be accessible and prevents discrimination against those with physical or mental disabilities. We provide expertise in signage that is ADA-compliant to ensure that all individuals are able to interact with the spaces in which we work.
Our focus on inclusion allows us to integrate ADA-compliant signage into the innovative designs that we create for each of our clients. By combining our high standards for design and accessibility, we are able to fabricate products that are not only elegant, but also serve all members of society.
Education Throughout the Industry
Our EVP of Marketing, Bob Greenberger teaches courses to other signage companies, designers and architects in order to further educate about the importance of ADA compliance in the signage industry. By teaching these classes, Bob is helping others professionals in our industry understand how inclusive signage can impact society and reach all members of our communities.
We are also heavily involved in the Richmond chapter of SEGD (The Society for Experiential Graphic Design). SEGD is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is for multidisciplinary designers to connect people to place. Built environments with innovative signage are crucial for building unique experiences within physical spaces, and our team at Acorn is passionate about facilitating these connections through our work.
Environmental Consciousness
A crucial aspect of our designation as a B Corporation is our efforts in environmental and lean manufacturing processes. We are always searching for new ways to decrease our impact on the environment and utilize green alternatives in our signage fabrication. Because of our dedication to being a green company, we advocate for environmental consciousness throughout our industry and in businesses as a whole.
COVID-19 Precautions
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our society and economy in unprecedented ways, so we have taken necessary steps and precautions in order to protect the health and safety of our employees and clients. Not only are we requiring masks and social distancing if individuals must be in the office, we are allowing remote working for our employees. We have also been providing signage to hospitals, fire stations and essential businesses in order to help outline CDC regulations for those that interact in these spaces.
